Pakistan IT Exports Rise to $2.1 Billion – A New Era of Digital Growth!

Islamabad, March 19, 2025 – Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector is booming, with Pakistan IT exports crossing $2.177 billion for the first seven months of the fiscal year 2024-25, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

Breakdown of IT Services Growth: Pakistan IT Exports

The increasing IT export figures also include computer services, which showed the largest growth of $1.720 billion during the previous fiscal year. It is now estimated that this growth will increase by 26.53% underscoring the continuous rise for the demand of Pakistan’s IT services globally.

Computer Services experienced a 32.72% increase, making it the fastest recovery service after most regions moved on from the global pandemic. For the current fiscal year, it is projected that the revenue will grow from $1.397 billion in 2023-24 to $1.855 billion. 

Monthly Performance

In January 2025 IT exports surged to $305 million, which corresponds to a 19% increase from the same month the year before. This month is also notable as being the 17th month in a row where year on year IT exports have increased since October 2023.  

Pakistan IT Exports Initiatives and Future Outlook

In the next five years, the Pakistani government aims to hit $15 billion in IT exports. To earn this target, steps are already being taken by issuing policy changes, building infrastructure, and even providing some grants and reductions in taxes for new and old companies.

Pakistan is increasingly becoming known as a rapidly growing region for Pakistan IT Exports. This results in an increased image of Pakistan in the international community and on the global stage.

There is an industry agreement that remains positive that the IT Industry will be able to significantly contribute to the country’s development of IT Sectoral Development Challenges provided that there is proper support and planning.
