Reaching a major benchmark in the assertion of digital empowerment, Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced a full-range IT training and digital skills program that will supply 27,000 rural women (modern term rural women) with basic IT skills.
The venture, which is the management of the Punjab Skills Development Department (PSDF), provides a six-month online course of study that durations several areas in web development, coding, digital marketing, e-commerce, social media management, graphic design, freelancing, data entry, office automation, and cybersecurity among others. Qualified candidates can apply for this opportunity from the comfort of their homes on the official PSDF website.
Another feature which was, the grants of scholarships during the training periods have been made by the program in order to support the trainees financially and technologically. Upon the successful completion of the program, the participants will receive desktop computers and free Wi-Fi devices, tools that they can use for their ongoing involvement in the digital world.
Maryam Nawaz New Project: Empowering Women through Technology
The Minister-in-Charge of Information Technology and Higher Education, Maryam Nawaz, pinpointed that the said advantage is all about the removal of handicaps of distance and mobility so that women may have the prospect of a good profession even from home. She was quick to add that the graduates of the program could turn to freelancing, start tech companies, or work as online business managers, thus being a part of the economy that is rapidly becoming digital in Punjab, The purpose of this program is in line with global goals such as the promotion of education, the attainment of gender equality, the reduction of economic differences, and the decrease of environmental pollution.
The overall goal of the project in management terms is to place rural women as key stakeholders in a digital revolution in Punjab through their integration in the IT marketing at global level.
