Lahore, April 9, 2025 —Punjab’s government has decided to employ 23,000 School Teacher Internship (STI) holders in the 2,000+ schools that have only recently been turned into model schools in the province. The major purpose of this action is to solve the problem of the shortage of teachers and to improve the education standard.
Only based on the recommendations of the Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and the consent of the influential society leaders have the schools been transformed from primary to elementary or high school levels over the preceding 5 years. It is important to note that 51 of these schools are located in Lahore.
The STI hirings are predicted to start in August 2025, if the Punjab Cabinet Committee’s formal approval is gained within the current provincial budget. This project responds to the serious challenge of teacher shortages, 100,000 teaching posts would be filled through this program offering the teachers the biggest internship experience in Punjab ever.
