When one finds oneself in a place full of injustices, staying silent doesn’t mean being neutral anymore. The issue of throwing bombs on Gaza and the lives of innocent people has become a major matter, leading to the question of “What can we contribute to this from miles away?” The answer may be found in our wallets, in which products we have to spend on or which product we have to boycott.
Why Boycott Matters
It should be clear that the spirit of boycotting Israeli products is not at all hatred, but love for humanity. It is a non-violent act against them to support peace. Every product we refuse to boycott is a statement that we are against the abuse. There is a worldwide initiative that calls for a warning of those in office where governments have not observed.
What to Boycott?
It is only through information that the only ways of making a significant change is possible. Below are some of the brands and products that are directly associated with Israeli companies or those that support the occupation:
- SodaStream: Fabrication in the Palestinian territories, none legally owned.
- Ahava: Beauty products are manufactured in the occupied land.
- HP: supplier of tech products for checkpoints and surveillance.
- McDonald’s was accused of participating in the Israeli military.
- Puma: Their gear is worn by sports teams from settlements in Israel.
- Nestlé: Besides investments in companies, many other Israeli businesses belong to the company.
- Coca-Cola: It has partnerships with Israeli bottling companies.
And many more products are on the list.. Learn more. Shop ethically. Your decisions will have an impact.
Is Boycott Enough? Let the People Decide
Some argue that they are simply a waste of time and nothing can happen by doing this, while others claim they are among the most effective means for change. Constitutional rights of global awareness are the same; doing nothing is also a separate choice. Many people have already decided to boycott their product for peace in the world.
What is your point of view? Do We Have to Boycott or Not
Do you think boycotting makes a change, or do you have a better way to support Palestine? What’s your opinion, your voice, your principles — they are more significant now than at any other time.
