April 21, 2025 – Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan is now open for applications for the Summer 2025 Parliamentary Internship Program, with the aim of providing a unique chance for students and fresh graduates to acquire experience in the legislative processes personally.
Eligibility Criteria for Internship:
- Education: At least 14 years of education qualification is required from an HEC-recognized institution.
- Enrollment: The students who have completed a four-year undergraduate program (after completion of two years) or a master’s degree in fields such as Law, Economics, Public Administration, Media Sciences, Social Sciences, and related fields are eligible.
- Academic Performance: At least 60% marks or 2.5 out of 4.0 CGPA are required.
- Age Limit: The candidates must not exceed 30 years of age.
Extra attention will be given to the applicants who belong to the marginalized areas, such as Balochistan, South Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, erstwhile FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Internship Features:
- Duration: The internship will last 6 weeks and is scheduled to start in June 2025.
- Training: First day orientation with the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS) in Islamabad.
- Experience: Members of the chamber and mentorship, and professionals will assist the selectees throughout the internship and provide them with the required knowledge not only in Legislative research but also in policy formulation and parliamentary practices.
- Certification: An internship completion certificate will be provided by the National Assembly Secretariat after the candidates have met the criteria set for a successful internship.
