Solar Panel and Lithium Battery Prices Fall in Pakistan, Boosting Renewable Energy Adoption

The renewable energy market in Pakistan has marked a major achievement, on the one hand, solar panels are now valued at 28 to 32 rupees per watt that is an all-time low in the history, while the prices of lithium batteries in Pakistan are also noted here.

Rates of Solar Panels & Lithium Batteries in Pakistan

Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan (April 2025):

  • Rs. 28 to Rs. 32 per watt (current average market rate)
  • Previously: Rs 39 to Rs 40 per watt a few months ago
  • Two years ago: Roughly Rs 80 per watt

Lithium Battery Prices in Pakistan (April 2025):

  • 100Ah Lithium Battery: Rs 65,000 up to Rs 75,000
  • 200Ah Lithium Battery: Rs 120,000 and Rs 140,000
  • 48V 100Ah (for solar systems): Rs 250,000 to the range of Rs 280,000

The current price lowers to a range of 40% to 50% when compared to the last year’s price. The main reason for the reduction in prices is the lowering of lithium battery costs globally, which have fallen by almost 50% in the last year. This drop in costs has meant renewable energy solutions by solar are now within reach of Pakistani consumers.

Since the year 2023, when the net metering trend started to take hold in the market, Pakistan’s solar energy market has shown exponential growth with the help of imports from China. The ability to get more cheap and reliable solar energy choices has led to a situation where many consumers have made the move from expensive grid electricity to solar power, thereby boosting the sector further.

Although, while lithium battery prices have hit a downward trend, the local market for dry batteries has not experienced the same path, as importers have refused to lower prices for the locals. .

Although the decline in prices for solar panels and lithium batteries is worrying, this has opened up a great chance for Pakistan to quicken its transition to renewable energy by giving consumers more affordable and environment-friendly energy solutions.
