The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in the upper areas of the country.
According to the department, Karachi is expected to receive thunderstorms with off-and-on showers from August 18 to August 22. Meanwhile, from August 14 to 17, heavy rains are likely in the upper parts of Pakistan.
Between August 18 and 22, rainfall is expected in Sindh, Balochistan, South Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This could lead to landslides in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Galiyat, and Murree.
In Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Peshawar, and Nowshera, there is a risk of urban flooding. Low-lying areas may face waterlogging, and slippery roads could cause accidents.
The Meteorological Department also warned that strong winds and lightning could damage weak structures. Citizens, travelers, and tourists have been advised to take safety precautions.
