April 23, 2025 – Karachi: The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) , in cooperation with the Sindh Government, is going to start a fully equipped new facility in Korangi, Karachi, which will be completely free of charge for all patients needing medical treatment.
The hospital’s first phase will be a 90-bed emergency department, along with the plan to later increase its bed capacity to 1,380, which will make it one of the largest free-of-cost hospitals in Pakistan. The hospital will be delivering specialized services, including neurosciences and adult oncology, and also it will be operated as a totally paperless hospital, guaranteeing fast and efficient patient care.
During a visit to the hospital construction site Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah mentioned the government’s dedication to directly available health care while saying, “Every citizen has the right to receive medical treatment of the best quality, and to this end, we will step up healthcare.”
President of IHHN, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, expressed the importance of the project and said that the Korangi Indus Hospital that is going to reach out to the underserved communities will indeed be giving a new lease of life to many people who will receive the best treatment with no form of discrimination or by following any VIP protocol.
The building of the new hospital is one of the actions in a bigger plan to make the healthcare infrastructure of Sindh even stronger. CM Murad Ali Shah also shared the news of the future construction of a Mother and Child Block at Badin Hospital through a videoconference, further making healthcare more accessible in the region.
Indus Hospital in Korangi, which enjoys the trust of the people with its commitment to improving the healthcare delivery system, is targeting to be the best in delivering reachable, fair, and high-quality healthcare services to all through government funding and donations received.
