100-Year Record Broken in Babusar Thak, Silence in the Tourist Valley

Chilas: In Diamer, heavy rains continue and have caused a destructive flood that has left behind a trail of disaster. In Babusar Thak, a 100-year record of destruction has been broken, and silence has taken over this beautiful tourist valley, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel on Saturday.

According to details, after the heavy rains, a flood swept away lives, vehicles, houses, and crops. Roads, electricity, and water systems have been badly damaged. Many people are now forced to live under the open sky.

The flood-hit areas look heartbreaking everywhere. Victims of rain and floods are appealing to charity organizations for help and relief work.

In Babusar Thak, 9 kilometers of the main road have been completely changed by the flood. Officials say repair work is going on. The affected areas include Babusar Thak, Niyat, Khner, Batogah, Thor, and Tangir. Hundreds of houses, water channels, bridges, crops, and animal shelters have been destroyed. The administration has also conducted an aerial survey to remove debris from Babusar Thak.

Rescue officials said they have not found the people who were swept away in the flood, but the rescue operation continues for the fourth day. In Niyat Valley, the flood caused huge destruction, and many places have disappeared from the map. In Thor Munyar, a landslide blocked the Karakoram Highway. Travelers and tourists were stuck there but have now been rescued.

Officials say the Karakoram Highway will be reopened after the flood water passes. In Thor, two people who went missing in yesterday’s flood have still not been found. A local journalist from Thor Valley narrowly escaped the flood while reporting. Many houses, crops, and bridges in Thor Valley were washed away by the flood.

The weather department has issued an alert, saying heavy rains are expected from July 27 to July 31. There are chances of strong winds, hailstorms, landslides, and floods in streams. People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from rivers and hilly areas.
