Lahore: From China’s Yantai Port, 100 electric buses are ready to be sent to Punjab.
Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, said in a post on X that the buses are expected to arrive by sea tonight. They will be sent to districts where public transport has been missing for a long time.
She mentioned that the districts include Mianwali, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Vehari, Pakpattan, and DG Khan. For the first time, these areas will get an official public transport system.
Maryam Nawaz also said that the bus fare will be only 20 rupees. The buses will have air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and an automatic ticketing system.
The Chief Minister added that the buses are specially designed for people with disabilities. Citizens will get a safe, comfortable, and modern way to travel.
