BCCI Suspends IPL 2025 for One Week amid Increasing India-Pakistan Tensions

Lahore, May 9, 2025 —The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 immediately suspended for one week announced by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) , citing intensifying military tensions between India and Pakistan.

Including the incidents of  Kashmir, The decision follows a series of cross-border incidents and a recent attack by India on Pakistani region. A match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was cancel midway due to security concerns, stimulating the BCCI to arrange the safety of players and stakeholders.

With 12 group-stage matches and contests remaining, the BCCI stated that further updates concerning the tournament’s schedule and places will be publicized after a comprehensive valuation of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities.

The interruption has led permissions to arrange travel logistics for players, with Indian players returning home and overseas players being flown out with support from the BCCI and team management.
