According to international media, Dubai Airport officials have signed a deal with global crypto authorities. Because of this, Emirates airline tickets can now be purchased using cryptocurrency.
Reports also say that, as per the Dubai government, people will soon be able to shop with crypto at Dubai Duty Free as well. Officials in Dubai are confident that the city’s digital future will be strongly connected to cryptocurrency.
Heroin Found in Passenger’s Shoes and Laptop
At Dubai International Airport, a passenger was caught trying to smuggle heroin hidden inside his shoes and laptop.
The customs inspectors at Dubai Airport Terminal 2 stopped an attempt to smuggle 880 grams of heroin. The drugs were hidden very cleverly in secret sections of the laptop and in the heel of the shoes.
Ibrahim Al Kamali, head of the Passenger Operations Section, said that Dubai Customs is fully determined to stop any kind of illegal smuggling. He added that customs officers are highly skilled and trained professionals.
He also mentioned that all the inspectors are 100% UAE nationals and they are provided with advanced and modern equipment to carry out inspections.
Al Kamali further explained that when they searched a suspicious passenger at the airport, they discovered heroin inside the hidden parts of his laptop and inside the heel of his shoe.
