Iran has decided to block the Strait of Hormuz, and in response, the United States has asked China for help. According to the latest reports, the US reached out to China after Iran announced its decision to close this important waterway, as Reported By Save Our Pak News Channel On Monday.
In an interview, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that blocking the Strait of Hormuz would be equal to economic suicide. He added that China should step in and help stop Iran from doing this.
Rubio explained that if the strait is blocked, it will badly affect countries like China, India, and Japan. He said this could increase problems for many nations, not just the United States.
He also said that although the US has its own ways to handle this situation, other countries must also take this seriously. According to him, their economies could suffer more than the American economy if Iran really closes the strait.
Rubio added that if Iran goes ahead with this plan, the Chinese government should be the first to react with anger, because a lot of China’s oil comes through that route.
He said blocking the Strait of Hormuz would be a major step in the ongoing tension. This kind of action will need a strong response from Washington and other global powers.
