In Trinidad, the first One Day International between Pakistan and West Indies will be played today. According to Pakistan Standard Time, the match will start at 11 PM.
Before the match, both teams practiced hard in Trinidad. Pakistan’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, said that spinner Abrar Ahmed and fast bowler Sufiyan Muqeem could be the trump cards in this ODI series against West Indies.
The first day-and-night ODI will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
Two-time world champions West Indies consider this series very important for their direct qualification to the ODI World Cup.
It is worth noting that in 2023, West Indies failed to qualify for the World Cup held in India for the first time in history.
Pakistan’s ODI team will be led by Mohammad Rizwan. The squad also includes Babar Azam, Abdullah Shafique, and Naseem Shah.
Earlier, Pakistan had defeated West Indies 2-1 in the T20 series held in Florida.
Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan said that the team will miss Fakhar Zaman due to his injury. He added that the young players in the squad are very talented, and the aim is to win the ODI series just like the T20 series.
