Karachi, April 3, 2025— President Asif Ali Zardari, age 69, has been taken to a private hospital in Karachi. He has been found to be infected with the COVID-19 virus and been admitted there. ​The president, coming from Nawabshah, was initially taken to Karachi on Monday evening as he was not only complaining about a fever but a local infection as well.

The COVID-19 diagnosis was said to have been confirmed by the personal doctor of the President, Dr. Asim Hussain. The team of medical experts suggested the president stay in isolation for a while so they can keep a track of his health. Dr. Hussain also verified that the condition of the president is currently steady and he has shown positive signs of improvement. ​

The time of the initial COVID-19 illness in the President was just before he flew to Nawabshah to offer Eid prayers and meet with party leaders. His transfer to Karachi followed immediately after. At this stage, the President was feeling symptoms, which were the beginning of his infection that later caused his condition to be critical, and he needed medical attention. ​

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Shari, has made a point of wishing President Zardari a fast recovery, therefore, he has called the President to enquire about his health and pray for him, too. Besides, Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has denied reports of President Zardari’s transfer to Dubai for further treatment and instead has given it his stamp of approval that the president is being taken good care of in Karachi and will recover soon.

The Pakistani nation is with bated breath on President Zardari’s health. They all want him to recover soon. But also, people who are against him think he got punished for his wrong deeds, but God knows that well, so we don’t need to think like that for anyone.
