Sindh Announces Free Electric Scooters for Women: Applications Now Open

To support women and make transport safer, the Sindh government is planning to distribute electric scooters (EVs) in a lottery system next month.
At the beginning of the project, 1,000 electric scooters are being distributed to female participants. Officials say that the program is now fully prepared for launch. The program aims to provide women with a safe, reasonable cost and environmentally friendly way to travel.
Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon chaired a special meeting in Karachi where the decision was made. Authorities also took stock of how different major transport projects in the province are coming along.
Memon pointed out during the meeting that the EV scooter and taxi schemes will bring new work opportunities for young people. He announced that by June, the province will officially kick off the EV taxi project.
Replacement of these vehicles is just one of the actions taken by the Sindh government to modernize transit, encourage sustainable mobility, and make transport more inclusive.

Process Of Submitting an Application for Electric Scooters

The application for college takes place completely online. People interested in the EV Scooty Ballot can visit smta.sindh.gov.pk, select “Projects” from the main menu, download the “EV Scooty Ballot Form – Application Form,” complete it, upload their CNIC, domicile certificate, Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), current driving license, and student or employee ID card.
Though the handing out of the scooters is unclear, the application process will probably continue for several weeks. If you want to avoid any problems, apply as soon as possible.
The initiative extends and strengthens the Sindh government’s previous focus on helping women access transportation by introducing the Pink Bus last year and planning a Pink Taxi with women behind the wheel.
