Getting to Know Starfish Neuroscience’s Brain Chip

Most brain implants are attached to wires, use batteries, and are not minimally invasive, but Starfish’s device will be wireless, battery-free, and minimally invasive, which will allow it to communicate with a variety of brain parts in a way that is a major advance in neurotechnology.
The chip is made to be efficient, not producing much extra heat and requiring very little specialized outside equipment since it uses only 1.1 milliwatts. It is primarily intended for healing use, with a major focus on cocktails for neurological illnesses.

Newell’s interest in using BCIs started more than a decade ago, when his company, Valve, started researching how to apply neurotechnology to their video games.
