What Did Rizwan Say When He Got Out? Hassan Nawaz Reveals

Pakistan cricket team’s batsman Hassan Nawaz said that this was his debut match in One Day Internationals, and before the game, he had promised himself that he would make it special by becoming the Player of the Match.

While talking to the media in Trinidad, Hassan Nawaz shared that Mohammad Rizwan told him before the game, “It’s your debut match, you have to finish the game.” Even when Rizwan got out, he repeated the same advice: “Finish the match and come back.”

Hassan explained that due to rain, the ball was gripping a lot, which is why he took some extra time to settle in. He said he was confident about his hitting skills, just like he has done in the PSL, and that confidence helped him succeed.

He also mentioned that he and Hussain Talat had a simple plan — if they stayed till the end, finishing the match would be easy. Their focus was on building a partnership because both of them can hit big shots when needed.

Hassan Nawaz further praised Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah for bowling really well. He admitted that the team made some fielding mistakes, and West Indies took advantage of them.

Talking about the pitch, he said that he has played on such tough surfaces before in domestic cricket. He also added that he learns a lot from senior players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha.

In the first ODI, Pakistan defeated West Indies by 5 wickets. The national team chased the target of 281 runs in the 49th over, losing only five wickets to claim victory.
