Karachi (August 13, 2025): Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has taken back its announcement about gas load-shedding on August 14.
According to details, SSGC has confirmed that there will be no gas shutdown on August 14, and gas supply in Karachi’s District West will remain normal.
The SSGC spokesperson said this decision was made to give ease to the public during the Independence Day holiday. The spokesperson also shared that the Karachi Water Board’s pipeline repair plan has been stopped for now.
The spokesperson explained that the earlier statement issued on Tuesday about gas suspension should now be considered cancelled.
It is important to note that yesterday, SSGC had announced that — on the request of the Water Board — the gas pipeline in Haroonabad SITE area would be shifted. Because of this, gas was supposed to be shut from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm.
The areas expected to face gas shutdown included Sher Shah, SITE, Jehanabad, Mianwali Colony, Lashari Mohalla, Metroville, Bawani Chali, Pathan Colony, Purana Golimar, Rexer Colony, Hasan Oliya, and Muslimabad. Gas was also planned to be cut in SITE Industrial Area, Haroonabad, Gulbai, Mauripur, Tikri Village, and Muslim Colony.
