London (4 August 2025): The famous British magazine The Economist has praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in a newly published article.
The article says that Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is playing an important role in giving a new direction to Pakistan–US relations. His private meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House started a big diplomatic shift in the region.
According to The Economist, the meeting between Asim Munir and Trump on June 18 at the White House marked the beginning of this change. During the meeting, Trump called India’s economy “dead” and placed a 25% tariff on Indian goods. On the other hand, he announced a trade deal with Pakistan with only a 19% tariff.
The report also mentions that the US is now working to restart arms trade and anti-terrorism cooperation with Pakistan. This shows a major change in US policy towards South Asia, China, and the Middle East.
The article also says that a US official praised Pakistan’s actions against ISIS. America is considering giving Pakistan armored vehicles and night vision equipment. US policymakers are now reviewing India’s harmful activities, while international diplomats and investors are in direct contact with Field Marshal Asim Munir.
According to the report, Field Marshal Asim Munir has also managed to keep balanced relations with China and Gulf countries. His popularity grew even more after the conflict with India, especially because he took a strong stand against India despite foreign pressure.
