Big update for people applying for driving licenses

Lahore: There is an important update for people who want to get their driving licenses. Punjab Traffic Police has decided to introduce AI-powered vehicles for the driving test.

According to details, the department has taken a major step to modernize the entire licensing system. They are planning to use special cars equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to conduct driving tests. The aim is to end corruption in the system and make the process fully transparent.

Traffic officials said that a summary has been sent to the provincial government for the purchase of 32 AI-powered cars. These vehicles will have sensors, high-resolution cameras, and advanced processors that will monitor the test in real time.

Reports say the total cost of these 32 vehicles will be over Rs. 160 million, and installing the AI system in each car will cost around Rs. 600,000.

Two AI cars have already been tested on a trial basis in Lahore, and the project will soon expand to other major cities.

Under the new system, the driving test results will be fully automated, which means unqualified candidates will no longer be able to get a license. The AI vehicles are expected to become fully operational by December.
