Tehran (January 9, 2026): Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has called on the Iranian people to stay united during the current tense situation in the country.
According to foreign media reports, while addressing Friday prayers in Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the U.S. President should focus on solving problems within his own country instead of interfering in the affairs of other nations.
He stated that some trouble-makers were damaging public property in an attempt to please former U.S. President Donald Trump. However, he made it clear that Iran would not bow down to such destructive actions.
The Supreme Leader firmly said that Iran would not tolerate what he described as “hired fighters” operating inside the country.
It is important to note that Al Jazeera has reported an ongoing internet blackout in several parts of Iran due to protests against rising inflation and the country’s currency crisis.
According to the same report, many main roads in the capital were closed during the protests. Angry demonstrators reportedly set fire to the state broadcaster’s building in Isfahan and the Governor’s Office in Gorgan.
