Man Booked for Announcing Child’s Birth Through Mosque Loudspeaker

Mian Channu (22 November 2025): A case has been registered against a local resident for using a mosque loudspeaker to announce the birth of his child.

According to police officials, the man used the loudspeaker of a nearby mosque to share the good news. The Chabb Kalan Police Station later filed a case against him under the Punjab Sound System Act.

Authorities said the man, named Tasawwur, made the announcement from the loudspeaker of Gulzar-e-Madina Mosque to celebrate the birth of his baby.

Under the Punjab Sound System Act 2015, unnecessary or loud use of speakers in public places is strictly prohibited. Anyone violating this law can face up to six months in jail and a fine ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 100,000.

Back in October 2025, police in Okara also filed a case against a rickshaw driver for playing singer Naseebo Lal’s song at high volume. The police stated that the action was taken under the same sound system law.

A police spokesperson said that breaking the law will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action will be taken against anyone who violates it.
