Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has awarded an honorary doctorate degree to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F).
According to details, Maulana Fazlur Rehman was given the honorary degree in recognition of his role in promoting political unity and improving relations with Islamic brother countries.
While speaking at the ceremony, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has always worked to find solutions to national issues. He added that Maulana has consistently played a positive role in politics, and whenever political parties face difficulties, they turn to him for guidance.
The governor said that with this honorary doctorate, Maulana Fazlur Rehman can now be called “Dr. Maulana Fazlur Rehman.” He added that a few important requests were also presented to him. He said that whenever Islam is discussed in Pakistan, Maulana’s religious role is clear to everyone. He also stated that global powers often view religious scholars as symbols of fear, which is not true.
Governor Tessori further said that the religious community stands firm on its principles. He added that Pakistan is currently trying to recover from an economic crisis. Referring to regional issues, he said that on May 10, Pakistan defeated India, restoring balance of power in the region. He also stated that terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is linked to elements operating from Afghanistan.
