Notorious suspect in 12-year-old boy’s murder killed in police encounter in Model Colony

Karachi (January 1, 2026): A wanted criminal who was involved in the murder of a 12-year-old boy and many other serious crimes was killed during an alleged police encounter in Model Colony, Karachi.

According to police, the suspect was identified as Rizwan, a well-known robber wanted in dozens of criminal cases. SSP Korangi Fida Hussain Janwari said that a pistol and bullets were recovered from the suspect. Police records show that more than two dozen cases were registered against him.

SSP Korangi stated that Rizwan was involved in the murder of a 12-year-old boy along with many other serious offenses. Several CCTV videos of his criminal activities were also available with the police.

Police officials said that during routine patrolling, officers signaled suspicious individuals to stop. Instead of stopping, the suspects opened fire on the police. In response, the police returned fire, during which Rizwan was killed.

Police further revealed that on February 15, 2025, Rizwan carried out a robbery at Landhi Babar Market. While escaping, he committed another crime near Landhi-89. When local people tried to follow him, the suspects started firing randomly.

During this firing, a 12-year-old boy named Shanu, who was playing outside his house, was hit by a bullet and died on the spot. The boy’s mother was also injured in the same incident.

The SSP added that the Special Investigation Unit had been investigating this case, and further legal action is currently underway.
