Pakistan shares peace plan with the US and Iran, says Reuters

Washington (April 6, 2026): According to Reuters, both the United States and Iran have received a peace proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.

The report says that Pakistan prepared this peace framework and shared it with both countries. The plan has two main steps. First, it suggests an immediate ceasefire. After that, it proposes a complete and long-term agreement to end the war.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz under a temporary ceasefire. He also said that Iran will not accept any deadlines or time pressure while reviewing this proposal.

Earlier, Axios reported that the United States, Iran, and regional mediators were discussing a possible 45-day ceasefire. This temporary pause could help move toward a permanent peace deal.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump posted a strong message on his social media platform, Truth Social. He warned that if Iran does not agree to a deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz by Tuesday, the US may launch further attacks on Iran’s energy and transport systems.

After this warning, reports of new airstrikes across the region came in on Monday. It has been more than five weeks since the attacks on Iran began by the United States and Israel. Thousands of people have lost their lives so far, and rising oil prices have badly affected the global economy.

In response, Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the most important routes for oil and gas supply. Around one-fifth of the world’s energy passes through this waterway. Iran has also carried out strikes on Israel, US military bases, and energy facilities in the Gulf region.

This latest development came just one day after President Trump warned Tehran that if no agreement is reached, the US could bring “devastating consequences” to Iran.
