The Election Commission has issued a revised schedule for the upcoming local government elections in Islamabad.
According to the commission, elections for general seats of union councils in Islamabad will be held on February 15. The process of submitting nomination papers will continue until December 30.
The preliminary list of candidates will be published on December 31, 2025. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from January 1 to January 6, 2026.
Candidates will be able to file appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers between January 7 and January 10. Decisions on these appeals will be announced from January 12 to January 15.
The final revised list of candidates will be released on January 16. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is January 17, while election symbols will be allotted on January 19.
