In an important decision approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during a federal cabinet meeting, the government advanced Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir to the title of Field Marshal.
General Munir is being promoted for his excellent handling of operations and for his bravery which kept the country safe and thwarted the enemy in Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the nation on the success of the operation and praised the armed forces for their heroism and skill in fighting the Battle for Truth.
According to the federal cabinet, Pakistan won a major victory for truth thanks to the exceptional leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir.
Because of General Munir’s distinguished military skills, courage and bravery which helped defend Pakistan and its unity when facing challenges, the cabinet voted to promote him to the rank of Field Marshal at the prime minister’s request.
The prime minister also encountered with President Asif Ali Zardari to modernize him about the cabinet’s decision and seek his support. In conclusion, the government asked Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu to stay on, devotion his achievements as he nears the finish of his term
