Summer Vacation Notification Reissued for Educational Institutions

The federal government has once again instructed private schools to strictly follow the official summer vacation schedule and warned that legal action may be taken against those who fail to comply.

According to details, the Ministry of Federal Education has reissued an official notification for all private educational institutions operating within Islamabad for the 2026 summer holidays. The move comes after reports that some private schools were not following the government’s announced vacation schedule.

A fresh notice issued by the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) states that all private schools in Islamabad must strictly observe the previously announced summer break from May 25 to July 31, 2026.

The notification also directs school owners and principals to fully implement the government schedule that was originally announced on May 21. Authorities emphasized that no exceptions will be allowed.

PEIRA has warned that any private school found violating these instructions could face legal action. The authority said that strict measures will be taken through the Islamabad district administration under the relevant provisions of the PEIRA Act 2013.

Officials stressed that all educational institutions must comply with the rules and ensure that students and staff follow the approved holiday schedule.

It is worth noting that the Punjab government had already announced summer vacations for all public and private schools across the province from May 22 to August 23, 2026. Regular classes in Punjab are scheduled to resume on August 24.

However, in Islamabad, the summer vacation period will continue only until July 31, after which schools are expected to reopen according to the official timetable.
