On Thursday, the Sindh government declared that summer vacations will be celebrated by schools from June 1 to July 31.
The news channel acquired a copy of the notification, stating that as per the meeting of the subcommittee of the steering committee on November 28, 2024, all students of private and public institutions under administrative control of School Education & Literacy Department should enjoy summer vacation from June 1 to July 31 in the following academic term of 2025.
According to officials, the provincial government in Punjab decided to close all schools in the province one to three weeks early because of the heat.
Educational institutes have been told to end classes two hours early at 11:30am, according to the notification from the education department, because of the heatwave.
In May of last year, schools in the province were shut down for a week due to high temperatures, and again for several weeks in November because of widespread smog. The legal notice is also issued by the government.
