Karachi (October 1, 2025): In a big decision, Wifaq-ul-Madaris has banned online education and also stopped students who shave their beards from taking exams.
The meeting was led by Mufti Taqi Usmani where important decisions were made. It was decided that online education will not be accepted in madrassas under Wifaq-ul-Madaris. Also, any student who shaves his beard will not be allowed to sit in the exams held under Wifaq-ul-Madaris.
If any madrassa sends admission forms of students who shave, they will have to give an explanation. If the explanation is not satisfactory, that madrassa’s affiliation with Wifaq-ul-Madaris will be suspended.
Wifaq-ul-Madaris said they strongly oppose taking up arms against the state in the name of Shariah. They also said that the only way to implement Shariah in the country is through peaceful movements.
The body has also banned videos and pictures of ceremonies. It said that office bearers will not release videos or pictures of their gatherings or events.
All madrassas connected with Wifaq that are running online classes or part-time education have been asked to submit a report. It was also decided that Wifaq will prepare new books for primary, 6th, and 7th grades. While making these books, the material from Textbook Boards and other institutions will also be considered. Wifaq has warned that madrassas should not be troubled with unnecessary demands.
Wifaq-ul-Madaris also said that scholars are clear opponents of armed movements. Because of new issues in women’s madrassas, fresh rules will be written. To help end the interest-based system, some selected religious institutions will also cooperate with the State Bank.
It was further decided that to improve the quality of annual exams, from now on, students’ exams will be held in two stages.
