Hamas Announces It Will Not Lay Down Arms Until Palestine Is Free

The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has announced that it will not give up its weapons until an independent Palestinian state is established.

According to foreign media sources, senior Hamas leader Mohammed Nazzal said that Israel wants Hamas to disarm before the creation of a Palestinian state, but the group will never accept this demand.

He added that no resistance movement in the world has ever laid down its arms before achieving freedom. In countries like South Africa, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Algeria, and Ireland, resistance groups were never asked to disarm before gaining independence.

Nazzal clarified that Hamas will only give up its weapons once a free and sovereign Palestinian state is formed.

He also mentioned that the Hamas political bureau is reviewing the U.S. President’s plan and will soon announce its official stance in order to end the conflict as quickly as possible.

Hamas, as a Palestinian resistance force, reserves the right to make decisions in the best interest of the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, Egypt said it is continuing efforts to persuade Hamas regarding the U.S. Gaza plan.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey are working together to convince Hamas and hope to get a positive response soon.

White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt said that they hope Hamas will approve Trump’s plan for Gaza.

Speaking to American TV, Levitt said that the Gaza ceasefire plan is acceptable, and they expect Hamas to accept Trump’s proposal as well.

The spokesperson added that Hamas should accept the plan so that the Middle East can move towards a more peaceful future.

Close sources to Hamas officials claimed that the Palestinian resistance group wants amendments in the disarmament clause of U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan.
