Islamabad (October 7, 2025): Former Senator and Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan leader Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has been released from Israeli detention and has safely arrived in Jordan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the news, saying that Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, who was part of the Global Samud Flotilla, has been freed and is now at the Pakistani Embassy in Jordan.
Ishaq Dar shared that Mushtaq Ahmad Khan is in good health and high spirits. He added that the embassy is providing him with full support and will help arrange his return to Pakistan whenever he wishes.
The Foreign Minister also thanked all friendly countries for their cooperation and assistance to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in securing Mushtaq Ahmad Khan’s release.
A video posted on Mushtaq Ahmad Khan’s official Facebook account also confirmed his release and safe arrival in Jordan after being held by Israeli authorities.
It is important to mention that Mushtaq Ahmad Khan was part of the Global Samud Flotilla, which had departed from Spain to deliver aid to Palestinians in Gaza. However, the Israeli Navy intercepted the flotilla before it could reach its destination and detained all participants.
