Water Crisis Worsens in Different Areas of Karachi

The water shortage in several parts of Karachi has become more serious. Many areas are now facing problems getting clean water for daily use.

According to ARY News, areas like Scheme 33, Safora, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Liaquatabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and Federal B Area are badly affected by the water crisis.

A spokesperson from the Water Corporation said that repair work is being done on an 11-inch line connected to the North East Pumping Station. The 48-inch main water line has leakage problems, and the team is working to fix it.

The Water Corporation also shared that three pumps supplying water to the city have been temporarily shut down. One pump at the Dhabeji Pumping Station is also closed due to ongoing repair work.

Because the main water lines are closed, the water tanker service has also been suspended. Due to these repair activities, there is a shortage of around 150 million gallons of water per day in the city.

The Water Corporation spokesperson said that the repair work is expected to be completed within the next 10 hours.
