No-confidence motion against AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq succeeds

The no-confidence motion against Azad Kashmir’s Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has been successfully passed.

According to ARY News, the voting on the motion was completed, where 36 members voted in favour of Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, while only 2 members voted against it.
Assembly members participated in the voting by raising their hands.

With 36 votes, PPP’s Raja Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has been elected as the new Leader of the House, and he will now take over as the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir.

Before the voting, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq addressed the Assembly and said, “How is it possible that only one man is blamed for destroying the constitution and the administrative system? Are the cabinet members not responsible too?”

After the motion passed, it is expected that Faisal Mumtaz Rathore will take oath tomorrow.

Sources say that due to health issues, AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood will not administer the oath.
Instead, Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar will conduct the swearing-in ceremony for the new Prime Minister.
