Quetta: The government has officially announced a two-and-a-half-month winter vacation for all educational institutions in the colder regions of Balochistan. The holidays will begin on December 16.
According to details, the Balochistan government has released the complete winter vacation schedule for Winter 2025 for all government schools located in the province’s cold districts.
The education department stated that the holidays, lasting two months and fifteen days, will start from December 16.
Officials further said that in Chaman and other cold districts, annual exams for Classes 1 to 7 have already started from November 16 and will continue until November 24.
In addition, the Class 8 exams under the Balochistan Board will also begin on November 24.
Last week, the Punjab School Education Department also announced its winter break schedule for 2025. According to their notice, holidays in Punjab will begin on December 23 and end on January 12, 2026.
Across Pakistan, winter vacations are usually observed from mid-December to early or mid-January.
In northern areas like Gilgit-Baltistan and Murree, schools close earlier because of heavy snowfall and extreme cold. Meanwhile, in the southern regions, winter holidays generally start toward the end of December.
Winter vacations not only give students a break from academic pressure but also allow families to enjoy Christmas, New Year celebrations, and time together.
