Jeddah: Saudi Arabia’s Geological Survey Authority has confirmed that an earthquake was felt in the eastern region of the country late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
According to Arab media reports, the National Seismic Monitoring Network recorded the earthquake at 1:11 a.m. and 23 seconds. The earthquake measured 4.3 in magnitude, officials said.
The authority stated that the epicenter of the quake was located about 9 kilometers east of Haradh. The tremors were recorded at around 4.0 on the Richter scale.
Reports confirmed that no loss of life or property damage occurred due to the earthquake. Many residents in the area did not even feel the tremors.
It is worth noting that last month, earthquake tremors were also recorded in an area known as Harrat Al Shaqah in Saudi Arabia. At that time, the seismic monitoring centers detected the tremors in the evening.
According to officials, the epicenter of that earthquake was about 86 kilometers northwest of Harrat Al Shaqah. The intensity of that quake was recorded at 3.43 on the Richter scale, and no casualties or damage were reported.
