The federal government has decided to issue free health cards under the Federal Health Facilitation Program for residents of Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to an official notice issued by State Life Insurance, permanent residents of these regions will be eligible to benefit from the program. State Life has also directed all hospitals registered with the health program to prepare for the new phase.
The notice stated that health cards under the Federal Health Facilitation Program will become active from January 16. Panel hospitals have been instructed to set up dedicated health desks before the launch date to ensure smooth services.
It was further shared that eligible individuals will receive uninterrupted medical treatment facilities. Regular inspections of panel hospitals will also be carried out to ensure proper service delivery. Authorities have requested full cooperation from all hospitals involved in the program.
State Life added that the program will be implemented effectively across the regions. The main aim of the Federal Health Facilitation Program is to provide free and quality medical care to the public.
Sources said that millions of families are expected to benefit from this initiative. Health cards issued under the program will remain valid until June 2027.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir had also announced the restoration of the health card service across Azad Kashmir before January 20.
