Karachi: After the deadly fire at Gul Plaza, a missing young man made a heartbreaking final phone call to his brother, saying, “I will die, please save me!”
According to details, a massive fire broke out at Gul Plaza shopping mall in Karachi on Saturday night. Since then, several people, including shopkeepers and customers, have gone missing. Their families have been desperately searching for any information about their loved ones.
At least 14 people have lost their lives in the incident so far. Authorities have warned that the death toll may rise, as many people are still believed to be trapped inside the building.
Speaking to ARY News, the brother of a missing youth said that his brother kept turning the shop lights on and off to signal for help. During a phone call, he cried and said, “I will die, please save me.”
The brother added that other people inside the shop tried to break a window to escape, but they were unsuccessful.
Another affected man said that his brother became too frightened to come out and stayed inside the shop. Since morning, there has been no contact with him.
A woman from one of the affected families also appealed for help. She said, “My husband and my two children are inside. For God’s sake, please save them somehow.”
The fire at Gul Plaza caused severe damage to the mall and shops. Several people are still missing, while rescue teams continue their search operations day and night to locate those trapped inside.
