Karachi (January 23, 2026): After rainfall yesterday, the weather in Karachi has suddenly turned cold, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a new forecast for the city.
According to the Met Office, Karachi is currently experiencing cold conditions, with daytime temperatures recorded around 20 degrees Celsius. Weather officials have predicted that a fresh cold wave will continue for nearly a week, and temperatures may drop to single digits.
The department further reported that the minimum temperature early in the morning was recorded at 10.5 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels were measured at 21 percent, while cold and dry winds from the northwest were blowing at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
Officials said that the rainfall yesterday caused a sharp drop in temperature across the city. Cold winds made the weather feel even colder, with the temperature sensation falling to around four degrees in some areas.
Meanwhile, rainfall in different parts of the country and snowfall in mountainous regions have started affecting daily life. The Meteorological Department stated that this spell of cold and rain is likely to continue for the next few days.
For today, the Met Office has forecast cloudy skies in Karachi, with chances of light to moderate rain at intervals. During rainfall, dusty and strong winds may also blow across the city.
Rainfall data from yesterday showed the highest rainfall in Surjani Town, where 26.3 millimeters were recorded. North Karachi received 20 millimeters of rain, while Gulshan-e-Ma’amar recorded 17 millimeters.
