Lahore: Grade 21 officer Abdul Karim has been appointed as the new Inspector General (IG) of Punjab, while Dr Usman Anwar has been posted as the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to official details, a notification regarding the change in the positions of IG Punjab and DG FIA has been issued.
The federal government has appointed former Punjab Police Chief Dr Usman Anwar as the new head of the Federal Investigation Agency. At the same time, Rao Abdul Karim has been named as the new IG Punjab.
The notification also directs former police chief Raja Riffat to report to the Establishment Division.
Dr Usman Anwar joined the Punjab Police in 1995. Before his recent posting, he was serving as Additional IG in the Motorway Police. He was later appointed as IG Punjab.
During his career, Dr Usman Anwar has held several key positions, including Additional IG of the Punjab Special Branch and District Police Officer (DPO) in Okara and Sargodha.
Meanwhile, Rao Riffat has been posted to the Narcotics Control Division.
