Saudi Arabia deports 11,656 illegal residents

Riyadh: Saudi authorities deported 11,656 illegal residents during a single week as part of ongoing enforcement against residency, labor, and border law violations.

According to a report by Saudi news agencies, a total of 20,237 violations were recorded between January 29 and February 4, 2026. These included 12,687 violations of residency laws, 4,318 cases of illegal border crossing attempts, and 3,232 violations of labor laws.

During this period, 1,555 people were arrested while trying to enter Saudi Arabia illegally. Among them, 57 percent were Ethiopian nationals, 40 percent were Yemeni, and 3 percent belonged to other nationalities.

Authorities also arrested 61 individuals who were attempting to leave the Kingdom illegally by crossing borders into neighboring countries. In addition, 32 people were detained for helping others with illegal travel, accommodation, employment, or shelter.

Saudi officials emphasized that providing any form of assistance to illegal migrants—such as transportation, housing, or job opportunities—is a serious crime under Saudi law and carries strict penalties.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Interior, anyone found facilitating the illegal entry or stay of migrants may face up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to one million Saudi riyals, and confiscation of vehicles and property.
