Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta has named two players who he believes can help Pakistan reach the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup.
After a dramatic start to the tournament, traditional rivals India and Pakistan faced each other, where the Men in Blue handed Pakistan a heavy defeat. Following the loss, the team faced strong criticism, and many experts even questioned whether Pakistan could make it to the Super 8 stage.
However, Pakistan bounced back in a must-win match against Namibia. The national side delivered an impressive performance and secured a massive victory by 102 runs, keeping their hopes alive for the next round.
Aggressive opener Sahibzada Farhan and mystery spinner Usman Tariq played key roles in the win. Farhan scored Pakistan’s first century of the World Cup, while Usman showed excellent bowling skills, taking four wickets and giving away only 16 runs.
After watching their performances, Vikrant Gupta praised both players on social media and explained how Pakistan could move closer to the semi-finals.
In his tweet, Gupta wrote that if Usman Tariq — and certainly Sahibzada Farhan — are used properly, Pakistan has a strong chance of reaching at least the semi-final stage with ease.
