Tehran Refuses Talks with the United States, Says Ali Larijani

Tehran: Iran’s Security Chief and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has clearly stated that Iran will not hold negotiations with the United States. His statement comes after some reports claimed that Iran was trying to restart talks with Washington.

According to international media sources, Larijani said that Iran has no plans to take part in any discussions or negotiations with the US. He especially pointed to the current tensions and recent attacks as the main reasons behind this decision.

He added that peaceful talks are no longer the preferred option for Tehran at this stage. Iran, he said, will strongly protect its national interests and defense policies without depending on negotiations.

It is important to mention that former US President Donald Trump recently said in an interview that Iran’s new leadership wanted to talk to him. Trump also claimed that he had agreed to discussions.

However, Larijani’s latest announcement makes it clear that Iran is not interested in any formal or direct diplomatic talks with the United States at this time, especially as military tensions continue to rise.
