Washington: U.S. intelligence agencies believe that Iran’s leadership is still strong and stable, and there is no immediate danger of the government collapsing. This information was shared by three sources who are familiar with the intelligence reports.
According to international media reports, several intelligence assessments have reached the same conclusion even after heavy airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel. Analysts say that the Iranian government still maintains strong control over the country and its people.
One source revealed that the latest intelligence report was completed only a few days ago. During this time, rising oil prices have increased political pressure around the world. Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested that the large-scale military operation, considered the biggest U.S. military action since 2003, could soon come to an end.
The intelligence assessment also indicates that despite the reported martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the first day of the U.S. and Israeli strikes on February 28, the country’s religious leadership remains united.
According to the news agency, Israeli officials have privately admitted during closed-door meetings that the war does not guarantee the fall of Iran’s religious government.
Sources also warned that the situation on the ground can change very quickly. They said that internal conditions inside Iran could shift at any time, which may lead to new developments in the region.
