Iran allows Malaysian ships to pass through Strait of Hormuz

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Iran has given special permission to Malaysian ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to international media reports, this development comes at a time when global trade through this important route has been disrupted due to rising tensions and conflict involving United States, Israel, and Iran.

In his address to the nation, Anwar Ibrahim thanked the Iranian President and said that Tehran has granted “early clearance” to Malaysian vessels.

He explained that Malaysia is now working to safely bring back its oil tankers and crew members so they can restart their journeys without delay.

Although the Prime Minister did not share the exact number of ships allowed to pass, experts believe this move reflects Malaysia’s neutral foreign policy and its strong diplomatic ties with Iran.

He also warned that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing regional conflict have created a serious global energy crisis. Malaysia could also feel the impact, especially if oil and gas supplies are affected.

The Prime Minister added that disruptions in energy supply may lead to higher fuel prices in the coming days.
