Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Army successfully stopped a major infiltration attempt by terrorists at the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan and killed 8 militants during the operation.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces acted quickly after receiving information about the presence of terrorists trying to cross into Pakistan.
The forces carried out a strong operation in the North Waziristan area, which resulted in the killing of 8 militants. The statement said that these militants were linked to an Indian-backed group and had been sent across the border to carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
Security officials also recovered a large amount of modern weapons and ammunition from the killed militants. These weapons were reportedly meant to be used in major terrorist activities.
This incident has once again raised concerns about border control on the Afghan side. ISPR expressed serious concern and said that such infiltration attempts show weaknesses in the Afghan Taliban government’s border management.
The spokesperson urged the Afghan Taliban authorities to fulfill their responsibilities and ensure that their territory is not used against Pakistan.
The Pakistan Army also made it clear that under the operation “Azm-e-Istehkam”, actions against terrorism will continue without any break until the country is completely free from such threats. Clearance operations in the area have been intensified to eliminate any remaining militants.
Security forces reaffirmed their strong commitment to defending the country and said that any attempt of infiltration or terrorism will be dealt with firmly.
