Warning: Mobile Sims & Bank Accounts May Get Blocked, NADRA Alerts Citizens

The National Database and Registration Authority has issued an important warning for citizens across the country. It said that bank accounts, mobile SIMs, and other essential services could be blocked if people do not renew their ID cards on time.

According to details, NADRA has advised everyone to renew their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) before they expire. If the cards are not renewed, many services may stop working, including banking and mobile connections.

The authority shared that millions of ID cards in the country have already expired. Because of this, many people may face problems in accessing government and welfare programs.

In a report prepared with the help of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, it was revealed that more than 8.1 million SIMs are currently active on expired ID cards. These SIMs can be blocked at any time.

NADRA clearly stated that having a valid ID card is necessary to continue using mobile services without interruption.

The authority also warned that people who delay renewing their ID cards after June may have to pay extra fees or penalties.

In addition, families of deceased individuals have been advised to transfer SIMs registered in their loved ones’ names as soon as possible.

Citizens can renew their ID cards by visiting NADRA centers or by using the Pak ID mobile app and e-Sahulat centers for convenience.
