Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a high-level Iranian delegation and both sides showed strong commitment to peace in the region.
According to reports, the Iranian delegation was led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The Prime Minister welcomed Iran’s participation in talks and repeated Pakistan’s dedication to promoting regional peace.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Asim Munir, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
During the discussion, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts to support global peace and stability. He added that Pakistan is ready to play a full role in achieving meaningful results through dialogue.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held a meeting with US Vice President JD Vance. The meeting focused on the “Islamabad Talks” and key issues related to regional peace and security.
The meeting at the Prime Minister House was attended by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Pakistani officials including Ishaq Dar and Mohsin Naqvi were also present.
Both sides discussed opportunities for peace, stability, and cooperation in detail. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the constructive approach of the talks and expressed hope that these discussions will lead to lasting peace in the region.
