Big Relief for Solar Users: Government Removes License Requirement

The government has shared good news for people using solar energy systems.

According to Save our Pak, NEPRA has removed the license requirement for solar users who have systems of 25 kilowatts or less.

A spokesperson said that this decision was made after a request from the Power Division, and an official notification has also been issued.

This step came after instructions from Energy Minister Awais Leghari. A few days earlier, he had recommended removing the license fee for people installing solar systems up to 25 kilowatts.

The Power Division then formally sent a request to NEPRA, asking for the removal of this condition to make things easier for the public.

The Energy Minister explained that fees like these can slow down the growth of renewable energy. He said the government wants to make solar system installation simple and affordable so that people can become more independent in energy use.
